Baby B

I was thrilled when Shelby got in touch about a lifestyle newborn photography session in fall 2019. She had originally been looking for a birth photographer, which is something I would love to be able to offer, but haven’t figured out how to make work with my schedule and family responsibilities. Lucky for me, Shelby was still willing to work with me, and we got a session on the books for February 2020!

We met for coffee at the Paramount Cafe a month or two before she was due. Thanks to busy schedules (and at the moment, pandemic), I don’t always get a chance to meet my clients pre-session, but it was something I’d love to do in the future! It made the day of the session a bit less stressful for everyone, and solidified that Shelby and I were on the same page for their session.

After receiving a text that little baby B had arrived in late January 2020, they were on the schedule! Despite the fact it was February, it was a bright, sunny morning. Shelby is a photographer herself, so her house was the perfect setting for a lifestyle newborn photography session. Lots of windows, neutral paint colors, tons of light – it made it easy to get the look Shelby and Caleb were hoping for.

We started in the nursery, with decorations and a snuggle, moved into the living room for some portraits, then back to the nursery and master bedroom for an outfit change and lotion. You’ll notice the adorable quilt we made sure to include at the end of the session (a perfect example of how I like to incorporate special items you may have received).

I can’t believe it took me a year to blog this session! Happy birthday to Baby B!! Look for his six month session on the blog soon (or at least sooner than fall 2021?). ETA: It’s now April 2022 and I still don’t have their freaking gorgeous fall family session up yet!

Needing a lifestyle newborn photography session in 2021? Get in touch! I’ve started booking for late winter. I know we’re still in the middle (oh, please, let us not be in the middle but maybe rather the end?) of a pandemic, so I’m happy to explain all my precautions! Feel free to get in touch with any questions you might have! For more information, head to my Newborn Session Info page.
