L + K | Denver Maternity Photography
Looking for something casual and relaxed, but also somehow incredibly meaningful and unique? While it sounds like a unicorn ask, an at home maternity photo session can tick all these boxes. Dinner in the garden, followed by snuggling in the setting sun in my sweatpants?? Helllll yes.
I’ve loved this couple since we first met at their engagement session in RiNo, and I was over the moon to find out they were soon going to be a family of three. K asked if there was a possibility we could meet up in their (new!) home, and I jumped at the chance to photograph them in a space that meant so much to them. This was going to be they brought their baby home to!
L put together an awesome spread for snacking in the backyard, giving us the chance to catch up and hear about the adventures in their new home and garden. Bonus pup visits, too! I got to hear about their nursery and their plans for the next few months as they got ready to welcome their new babe.
After dinner, K + L switched to sweatpants for some cuddly evening snuggles. It was a gorgeous and intimate way to cap off a meaningful evening.
Have you been considering your own maternity photoshoot in your home? It’s quickly become my favorite, for a few reasons:
- Personal and unique. Do you have a fantastic red front door? Are your walls covered in art from your travels? Maternity photos at home are a great way to incorporate the small things in your life that make your personal style happen.
- Memories of the space you were in at this time in your life as a family. Do you love the way the light streams in your kitchen on a Sunday morning? Maternity photos with coffee on the kitchen floor! For a lot of my families, the house they bring their first baby home to isn’t the home they plan on living in forever. This can be an awesome way to remember your first home as a family of three!
- Cozy and comfortable. Are you nervous about photos? Is your spouse only about half on board? In home maternity sessions instantly put everyone at ease.
- Casually awesome. Are you not a “big dress in the mountains” kind of person? Does it seem uncomfortable to be snuggling out in the sagebrush? At home maternity sessions are a mix of posed and documentary style photos, which will feel more true to life.
Are you interested in your own at home maternity session? You can find more information – including pricing – at this link. While I’m located just over the border in Wyoming, I frequently travel to all Front Range locations – Denver, Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont, and everywhere in between. Locations south of Fort Collins require a travel fee, but I’m more than happy to provide quotes.

Beautiful session, and I love how personal these feel. Nobody else will have a session exactly like this one because they incorporated their home, their pets, and their normal routines.
