You’re tying shoes, serving breakfast, and zipping coats, all while answering emails, taking phone calls, and handling the business of running, well, a business!

It’s all hands on deck when working with preschoolers, and you need to work with businesses who take the happiness of your families as seriously as you do.

What if I told you that school picture day could be an easy and outsized offering to your parents? One that didn’t require a ton of extra effort on your part, other than a space for photos and willingness to communicate?

Hello, I’m Liz!

I’m the mom to three school aged girls (including a set of twins), and have been a professional photographer for ten years. Having worked with hundreds of families over my career, I’ve found that my favorite part of my job is childhood portraits. Shy kids, quirky kids, rambunctious kids – all my jam.

So, in 2023, I decided to pursue the opportunity to take school portraits for my daughters’ elementary school. Such an awesome experience from start to finish – getting to work with 200+ kids over two days, and deliver high end portraits to their parents? Yes, please!

I am located in Cheyenne – an easy 40 minute drive north of Fort Collins.

I’m available to travel as far south as Denver for school photography (and no additional charge). Loveland, Longmont, Boulder – all communities that I travel to frequently for my family and newborn clients!

I communicate with parents either through flyers or email.

Many of my schools choose to give me parent information (email). Emails are only used for communication about their child’s photos, and can be opted out of at any time.

If schools are unable to give me email information, I send home paper flyers with each child. Each flyer will have an access code and website where parents can see their child’s private gallery.

Every child I photograph will receive a slip of paper with a QR code on it. Parents will use this QR code to access their child (or children’s) gallery. I will not use any child’s image in a public space, unless I have received permission from their parent or guardian (as I did for all children featured on this page).

I turn around my school galleries as quick as possible, typically within one week of photo day, if not sooner.

While I prefer to stick with neutrals colors (gray, white, tan) for a classic feel, I am open to using other colors based on your organization.

Nope, no props! I believe that simple photos that highlight a kid and their personality are the most important images we can have.

For preschool aged kids, I do bring a small wooden box for seated portraits, and small wooden toys for fidgeting with. I find that wiggly bodies tend to relax once they’re seated and have something to do! Kids are also more than welcome to bring stuffies, blankies, or any loved items.

Yes! Sibling photography is handled on a school-by-school basis. Some schools are open to allowing older children to attend, while other schools prefer it be limited to the children on-site. I’m happy to discuss your preferences during a call or meeting!

I am happy to share my price list during our call or in-person meeting! I want printed photos in the hands of as many people as possible, so my printed products are priced to meet a variety of income levels. Digital images are also available for purchase, and can be printed anywhere.

I do not charge any upfront fees, to the school or to parents. I am paid through parent purchases (both print and digital) after the images are received.

I am currently booking schools with 25-300 students and staff. I prefer to get all photography done before lunch (if possible), which often means splitting schools into more than one day. Every school I’ve worked with has appreciated the flexibility and morning scheduling!

For prints, I offer wallet size through 8 x 10s. I also offer digital images for those parents who would prefer to print their own photos and/or share on social media.

All staff who are present on photo day will receive a complimentary digital image of themselves that they can use for personal or professional reasons. Staff who are absent or are hired after photo day are not included in this complimentary service.

While in my portrait business I photography kids from birth through 18, in my school portrait business I typically photograph kids from infancy through 6th grade.
