Resources for Family Clients
Woohoo!! You’ve *finally* gotten your family on board with scheduling family photos. Except…now what?? You haven’t had professional photos since your wedding, and you’re pretty sure that’s not how this works? (It’s not, I promise!)

Planning Your Session
My Favorite Locations For Family Photos in Cheyenne
Other than maybe help with what to wear, I get more questions about session locations than almost anything else. Which is understandable!! What looks great to a photographer isn’t always obvious to my families, and sometimes the locations that are suggested to me aren’t always the best for photos (no shade, too busy, no parking, etc). Here’s a rundown of my favorite locations in Cheyenne!
Fort Collins and Colorado clients: don’t despair! I have my favorite locations around Fort Collins too, and will hopefully have a post up for you in 2025.
What To Wear For Family Photos
One of my most popular posts – this post was viewed over 40K times in 2024 alone! I know how hard it is to choose outfits for your family, so I’ve put together everything I know about choosing outfits for your family photo session.
What To Wear for Extended Family Photos
I tell my clients that extended family sessions are “family photos on advanced mode”. Trying to figure out outfits for 4-5 members of your family is hard enough, but for 20+ people? Including your MIL?? I’ve got you.
How To Get Your Kids Excited For Photos
I promise you: family photos do NOT have to be stressful and awful and end with kids crying. That sounds like it should be a given, but you’d be surprised how many clients I have who tell me that their past family photo sessions went that way! That’s not how I roll – we’re going to have fun, I promise.
Tips For Including Your Dog in Family Photos
I love getting to include furry friends in family sessions!! Keep in mind – even the best behaved dog is a bit like having a toddler at photos. But if you’re up for the challenge click the link above!
