Baby A | Winter Newborn Photos
I met the Garcia family on a somewhat icy, but perfectly snowy November morning in Cheyenne. While chilly, it made for a snuggly winter session, with gorgeous window light!
I really love newborn lifestyle photography on days like this – there was no need for the family to trek out into the cold weather. We shot the entire session in their master bedroom, letting big brother go play in his room and get a break from photos. No one needed to pack a diaper bag, the bottle warmer was steps away, and Baby A was as snug as could be in his familiar bassinet.
Many of my previous blog posts have shown beautifully decorated nurseries. While I fully admit I had a lovely nursery, carefully crafted for my oldest daughter, the twins got…cribs. And a comfy chair. And a changing table. We were busy chasing a toddler, trying to get through being pregnant, and hoping to afford simultaneous newborns, so decor was very low on the priority list. This family had recently purchased (and unexpectedly renovated) their house, so the nursery hadn’t quite come together yet. Don’t let the lack of a nursery stop you when thinking about a newborn session! All I need is a window and an adorable baby.
Bonus feature in this post? The world’s greatest big brother. Baby A is only nine days old in these photos, so J was still settling into his role. But he was the sweetest, kindest, most gentle little human with his new baby brother. You can see adventures on the horizon with these two!
A huge thank you to the Garcia family for letting me photograph such a special time for your family!
