WHAT TO WEAR FOR SCHOOL PHOTOS

Keeping it clean and simple, your child will be photographed on a solid gray backdrop shown behind the girl in the flowered dress here.

No props! For kiddos who need a bit of security and comfort, feel free to request they keep their lovey and/or treasured toy for the photo.

School photos should reflect your child’s personality. Are they a “leggings only” kind of kid? Awesome! Do they have a favorite dinosaur shirt? Fantastic. Do they want a giant bow and curls for photo day? Bring it!

Your Fall 2024 Photo Day will use a dark gray backdrop with no props – this means that any color, any style, and any outfit will look its best!

I’ve included a few example outfits on the gray backdrop below.

My options for private galleries for volume sessions are limited, so I’m currently using GotPhoto.

One of the reasons I became a school photographer was to provide beautiful, high quality portraits, at a more accessible cost. I think it’s incredibly important for children to have photos of themselves that they’re proud to show off!

By keeping the background simple and prop-free, it allows your child and their personality to take center stage.

Every parent email on file with your school will have received an email with a link to your gallery(ies). That said, spam filters are getting more aggressive, and a lot of these emails don’t make it through!

For prints larger than an 8×10, or for all canvas prints, please email me at [email protected], and I will be happy to provide a link to order additional sizes.

My goal is to get a minimum of 3 images for each child or sibling group, with a maximum of 5 images.

The number of images I can take will depend on how your child is feeling about having their photo taken. I don’t want to stress your child out, so if it seems like they’re only becoming more unhappy with the situation, we’ll stop taking photos.

Absolutely! While I do my best to clean up noses and straighten clothing, I don’t heavily retouch school photos. If you would like additional retouching on your child’s photo (flyaways, scratch removal, etc), please contact me at [email protected].

The cost of retouching is $10/photo.

Yes! You will need to select the photo you want to purchase, click “Buy This Photo”, at which point you will have the ability to purchase a single download.

While the professional printer I use packages your prints beautifully, the USPS can occasionally wreak havoc. If your order shows up damaged, please email me at [email protected], and I will get it re-printed. I do ask that you include photos of the damages, so the printer and I can file a claim with the USPS.

Who Am I?

I’m Liz, and I’ve been a family and newborn photographer since 2016. I’ve photographed hundreds of Cheyenne families over the last 8 years, and am thrilled to have the chance to photograph your child!

I have three girls of my own, and am fully aware of the struggle to get halfway decent school photos at all ages. My goal is to make this process as easy and laid-back as I can for both you and your kids.

Model Release

Your child’s photos will never be used without your permission.

If you would be okay with your child’s photo being used for marketing purposes for Liz Putnam Photography, please click the button to fill out a model release form.

Parents who sign a model release will be emailed a 20% one-time use coupon for their child’s school photos within 24 hours of completing this form. Discounts cannot be stacked.
