“How do you spell ‘love’?”, asked Piglet. “You don’t spell it…you feel it,” said Pooh.

I used this quote on Facebook, along with this photo a couple weeks ago. I’ve always loved Winnie the Pooh, and this quiet moment, out on the Wyoming prairie, asked for a caption both sweet and gentle. After posting it, I received a text from Annabelle – she had just opened a box from her mom, containing Piglet and Pooh stuffed animals from her own childhood. Funny how the world works sometimes, isn’t it?

Everything about this session was peaceful and beautiful. The Xanthos family lives outside Cheyenne, on a couple acres of wildflower-filled prairie. We watched antelope from the kitchen, and listened to birds chirping as we ended our session out in the late summer sun. You would never guess that only a couple miles away, it was bumper to bumper traffic on I-25, thanks to all the people headed back after the solar eclipse earlier that day.
